VapoMeter

Practical and reliable TEWL, evaporation and permeability measurements

About

The VapoMeter is used to measure Transepidermal water loss (TEWL) which is a key indicator of the skin barrier function and the ability to measure this accurately is essential in a wide range of clinical and personal care applications.

It is wireless, fully portable and measurements are unaffected by the instrument’s orientation. The VapoMeter has been used in a wide range of clinical studies. Measurements take just a few seconds and accurate repeatable results are obtained at both high and low evaporation levels. A range of Franz cell adapters are available for in-vitro studies.

Claims

Measuring TEWL is an efficient way to test the skin barrier function. The skin barrier function plays a crucial role in maintaining overall skin health and protecting the body from external threats. VapoMeter is recommended to assess these skin features:

  • Skin moisturizing

  • Skin Ageing

  • Skin Acne and Blemishes

  • Atopic Dermatitis

  • Rosacea

  • Erythema (Skin sensitivity)

  • Peeling skin (desquamation)

  • Roughness

  • Skin occlusion

  • Puffy Eyes

  • Chapped Lips

  • Pollution

  • Scalp sensitivity

  • Nail hydration

Delfin VapoMeter is also the Instrument of Choice for In-vitro Release Testing (IVRT) / In-vitro Permeation Testing (IVPT)

Determination of the Skin’s Barrier Function / Skin Damage and thus Permeability is a critical step in these evaluations. The VapoMeter is used to measure Transepidermal Water Loss (TEWL) as an indicator of skin integrity. Stratum Corneum, the uppermost layer of the skin forms a major barrier to permeation of topically applied compounds. It is important to use undamaged skin samples in permeability experiments. Thus, a skin integrity test is always performed as part of any IVPT protocol.

Exciting News: Delfin Technologies and Teledyne LABS Collaborate to bring you Exclusive Discounts!

Delfin Technologies and Teledyne LABS, a United States producer of scientific laboratory instruments used worldwide in research, development and quality control, are collaborating to bring value and cost reductions to the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, academic research and development communities performing skin permeation tests.

Under the terms of the collaboration, Teledyne LABS will give a 5 percent discount on its Teledyne Hanson brand of diffusion cell systems to all Delfin Technologies customers. Delfin Technologies will give a 10 percent discount on their TEWL device, the VapoMeter, to all Teledyne Hanson diffusion customers. The offer is extended through the end of 2025.
